One of the coolest features for the PS3 and PS4 were none other than the dynamic themes available for the UI.
However, when the PS5 arrived, Sony decided they weren’t that cool, and for whatever reason, did away with them.
They ‘kinda’ brought them back with the Welcome hub last year, letting you apply different static and animated themes.
Now Twitter/X user ‘chi_m02’ noticed several new animated themes for the Welcome tab, as they appear to be slowly rolling out to select PS5 owners at the moment.
From Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei to Days Gone, a wide spectrum of PlayStation exclusives are covered. Plus hey! They’re free. Free never bothered me, Brah.
While I doubt that the PS5 will ever receive fully dynamic themes to the extent that past console generations did, this is what we get.
Which animated theme do you use on your Welcome tab?
