Could Sony Be Doubling Down With Netflix?

by Thomas Williams

While these entertainment conglomerates such as Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Netflix have what seems like an unlimited amount of content to offer through their streaming services, Sony has had to take a different approach.

Sure they own Columbia Pictures along with Sony Animation and many other smaller film affiliates, but they certainly lack the content to launch their own successful streaming network. So when Netflix and Sony announced their exclusive partnership going forward, it was a big ‘get’ for The Big N(etflix).

Looking to expand their entertainment empire beyond films, Netflix has announced that they will be adding games to their online services in the upcoming year. The most interesting part of this entire situation is what a data miner might have uncovered.

While the image featuring the DualSense controllers is nothing more than a stock image, the original cover art for the Ghost of Tsushima is by far the most interesting find. Could Sony be teaming-up with Netflix to offer their PlayStation Studios content to Netflix’s upcoming gaming streaming service? If so, what does this mean for the future of PlayStation Now? Could this be their answer to Xbox Game Pass?
