Valheim by developer Iron Gate Studio has been out on PC since February 2021 and more recently on Xbox.
The game has gone through numerous updates since, with Call to Arms being the latest. The Viking survival game allows up to 10 players to join a world where you can craft, build, fight and adventure to your hearts desire. I’ve put a bunch of hours into the game on PC and loved every minute of it.
I did play solo and would’ve probably enjoyed more of a co-op experience, as the game can be punishing on your own. I also gave it a go when it first released on Xbox but the release on that platform was fairly rough. Hopefully with the game being out for so long, we can get a much smoother port over to PlayStation.
The game will have crossplay, so if you have friends on other platforms, you’ll be able to go and Viking out together. Valheim will release on PlayStation in 2026. I heard it might release on the console a few weeks ago and was optimistic it might be this year because of the recent updates.
Sadly, we have to wait a little bit longer. I’m still excited for it to finally hit PlayStation, and I’ll be playing it day one. Check out the announcement trailer below and let us know if you’ll be playing it.
