When You Awaken in a Body That Is Not Yours, How Far Are You Willing to Go to Escape?

Fear Follows You Through Every Twisting Corridor

by THE VR DIMENSION

The air was thick and metallic and seemed to vibrate. I felt it through the walls, through the floor, even through my own body. It seemed to be the air of a structure that was in the process of slowly and ponderously breathing. Every step I took seemed to reverberate more and more, echoing off into the darkness. Corridors twisted off in unnatural directions, warping my sense of space in unpleasant ways. Flickering lights seemed to strain to continue existing. I kept my hand against the wall as I traveled, feeling the cold, moist condensation. I strained to hear the faintest sound of movement from around corners. But there was none. Only silence. And that silence seemed to be watching me and waiting for me to make some error so that it could pounce. I sometimes heard a distant, creaking groan as if some part of the structure was going to snap and collapse under enormous pressure. At other times I thought I heard a whispering or maybe even a faint speaking from within the vents. My own breathing seemed to reverberate off the walls and to grow louder and louder until I was convinced that everyone within hearing would know that I was there. In the flickering light of the dreary, wasting structure, the shadows seemed to reach out across the floor in the form of grasping fingers, and I couldn’t help but feel that every doorway which I approached was coated with unseen eyes and that they were studying me all the while. I had no idea where I was or why I had been brought here. But the structure seemed to know me. It recognized me. And it followed after me through the long, cold, decaying corridors, pressing against my heels as if urging me to continue when every fiber of my being longed to retreat in the opposite direction.

Features include:

  • Crawling abominations stalk the corridors of the megastructure, and being silent can make the difference between life and death. Use sounds to your advantage to open a path.

  • Inspired by Dead Space genre-defining enemy design, tailored for a horrific VR experience. Dismember your enemies to slow them, blind them, or cripple them. Every enemy has different behaviours based on how you amputate their limbs… bringing both benefit and risk.

  • Guns and ammunition run low in the megastructure, but do not let that hold you back. Take advantage of the environment and your powers to fight creatively and stay alive.

  • The voice in your head will not let you stay dead for long, but coming back to life has its price. This world, where things rot and renew endlessly, will not let you get used to it.

When the silence breaks with a breath not your own, what revelation claws its way toward you? As the unseen stalks with patient hunger, what choice forces you to confront the thing becoming you? When the voice inside you whispers of rebirth and ruin, what price must you pay to keep moving forward? Find out when Rustmourne comes to PC VR via SteamVR in early 2027.
