In the space of free play, the experience of play began. A massive number of Grablings twisted and turned through all sorts of environments that were in constant change of color and full of play. Grablings moved through spaces of painted walls and ceilings with lines of paint traveling in all sorts of directions and in constant change of color. Sometimes these lines of paint solidified into large splats of color, sometimes into clues which would travel off in other directions. Sometimes these clues would disappear from view only to reappear a split second later as a bright, neon signal in the corner of your eye. Every action was a physical burst of energy, whether that was ducking down behind a pillar, sliding into a tight space, or even just sweeping your arm across a wall to become part of the scenery. The environments were alive and were reacting to the players in the space. Each splash of color would form into a new space for a few seconds before solidifying into another form. Sounds in the environments were popping up in all directions at once. These sounds were bouncing off the painted textures of the environments and traveling around the space in what seemed to be a mischievous rhythm. There was a lot of tension in the spaces between the still Grablings of the players and their sudden movements. Some of the players’ movements were very quick and would sometimes disappear from view in an instant. Sometimes there would be more of a build-up to a player’s movement, and then the space would be suddenly full of people’s movement, and there would be a big burst of laughter. This would then be followed by lots of quick movement and another big burst of laughter. In each space, the players were presented with a constantly changing set of challenges and hiding spots. Even the briefest of pauses in the action were charged with anticipation, and the air was thick with tension, and then suddenly there would be another burst of movement. The physical nature of the experience is demanding attention and is drawing the players deeper into the multiverse of the experience. The experience is immediate, tactile, and slightly unpredictable, creating a constant loop of action which is encouraging the players to move in the boldest and most expressive ways possible across every single surface that has been painted.
