A wisp of pale energy flickers in the muck of the dirt, growing into a stream of raw power that bursts in a brilliant flash of light. Out across the stark, black earth, thousands of bony fingers tear at the soil, a seemingly endless tide of decay and rusting metal that crawls across the dark, foul ground beneath a sick, ash-choked sky. Yet where that might inspire fear, that same energy takes on a harsh, clear form. Each pulse of it unravels ancient, hidden words, weaving powerful, shining armor about newly-summoned warriors. Golden, bright banners cut through the murk as company after company of holy infantry hardens into physical form. Shoulder to shoulder, they present a seemingly impenetrable wall to the dark pressing against them. Wild arcs of electricity burst from their hands, tearing apart the crowds of bones to make great gapping chasms in their ranks, even as blindingly holy energy detonates amidst their front, reducing bone to powder and sending their shadowy forms fleeing before the warm light of the sun like so much mist. That seemingly endless horde stretches on towards the horizon and appears to be about to engulf it whole, yet with each additional wave of attackers that is somehow destroyed, the force which fuels that growing array of protective wards and enhances the arms of every single soldier to an enormous, crusader-like effect pours outward through a hidden web of lines of power, or ley lines. In the mud between their feet, curious sigils burn with an up-surging, fierce red light.
