Cleaning up Quiet Rooms for the Restless Spirits of Germany…

Settling the Final Secrets of Restless Spirits

by RiftMode

For more than thirty years, I have been traveling from town to town in Germany. Everywhere I go, I enter rooms that have been left exactly as they were on the day of a person’s death. Most people picture exorcisms, ghastly occurrences of this kind. But no, this work is basically dirty work. Every house, every room, every corner holds memories, often tied to trivial objects. And it is precisely these memories that one has to uncover. How did this cup come to be placed on this windowsill? Why did this letter never get sent? The work is calm, and it is very dirty. There are no time limits, no fearful beasts hiding in the corners of the rooms I visit. On the contrary, I work at my own speed. It is wonderful, monotonous work. And there is much to be done. I speak to the people in the houses next door to my clients. I answer phone calls. Sometimes I have to return to a house which has been shut up for years. And then, slowly but surely, I clear the place of the clutter left behind by the deceased. The heavy, chilly air in the room begins to lift. One can sense the presence of the dead person who has been lingering there, watching over the bereaved. And slowly but surely he or she begins to relax now that his or her unfinished business on earth has been cleared up. For years now I have been traveling from town to town, doing this same work. I am sixty-plus now, and for the first time in my life I am beginning to wonder what the future holds for me. Will there be someone to take over from me? But for now I just pick up my cleaning utensils and off I go. Every lost soul is worthy of my help to find his or her peaceful rest.
